Meet us under the sun, moon & stars…surrounded in natural beauty and exhilarating adventurous landscapes, where our souls will feel rested, restored, and inspired. When considering each of our Gather Retreat locations, it was important that these backdrops called us to create Art in these incredible landscapes and chase the extraordinary.
Join us as we dive into our craft, reignite a flame and explore our Art with our heart and souls in a community of like-minded Artists. We will GATHER together to empower your vision, encourage you and help you create the business of your dreams!
We hope to rejuvenate your Art by exploring the magic we collectively each hold, helping you think outside the box, challenge you with different photography techniques, and elevate your work while motivating you as a Creator!

Welcome
Hello! We are so honored and excited for your interest in our Gather Photography Retreats for Family + Motherhood Photographers! The fact that you are inquiring about a retreat shows your desire to pursue and grow exponentially as an Artist!

Our hope at the Gather Retreat is to restore the fire in you that enables you to brilliantly create in a way your heart and soul is longing for! We are so proud of you for taking this step and following your passion and desire to grow.
We would absolutely love to share with you all the things that have helped us elevate our business and our photography over the years! We have found a true love in sharing and supporting other Artists in finding their authentic voices, helping them find work/life balance, and fine tune their Art, workflow, and client experience.
Our focus will be to:
- Create a Purpose-Driven Business: Explore your craft and purpose with a like-minded community of women
- Shooting: Learn new shooting strategies and fresh perspective to create a strong vision with your clients
- Client Management: Strengthen your session workflow from that very first email to gallery delivery
- Prompting: Be a Storyteller + learn to shoot with intent and creativity
- Editing with Heart: Creative processing strategies to make your Art come alive (editing will be done through videos after the retreat, we will also be there to coach you in person too when you edit!)
- Our Styling Process: Learn how we style each session with a strong vision to authentically bring each story to life through wardrobe
- The Magic of Light: Practice shooting in various types of light and to utilize light to strengthen your Storytelling
- Soul Searching: Find your heart’s work through growing your Art + creating community
THE DETAILS
- Each Retreat will have 3/4 uniquely styled Family, Motherhood + Maternity shoots at dazzling locations led by both Jodi & MacKenzie
- Each retreat is limited to 10 attendees with 2 teachers
- Lodging at beautiful accommodations! (Shared beds may be a possibility.)
- All meals, drinks and snacks provided (If you have any special dietary needs, please let us know! Alcohol is not provided, but you can bring whatever you would like.)
- Airfare and travel to and from the airport is not provided. (There will be a group chat so you can plan airfare, carpools, and rental cars accordingly.)
- You will have access to our Facebook group where there will be continued education provided! We will post editing videos (from both MacKenzie & Jodi), all our business minded information including workflow, email templates, and any other resources we offer. We will also dive into Educational Content at the Retreat itself too!
Our goal is for you to leave us feeling like you just got a breath of fresh air…renewed and revitalized as an Artist! We hope to instill new techniques, vision, and reignite your passion for this impactful Art! We will share our tools to help make the back end of your business flow seamless and effortless, so you can put the majority of your focus and connection into your clients! And most importantly, we want to leave you with a new support system, a group of friends, a place you feel like you can return to time and time again to GATHER with your new tribe!
About the Teachers
Jodi and MacKenzie are both open books! We are both empaths and creatives in every sense of the word and will without a doubt be your biggest cheerleaders during every step of your process! Our hope is to fill you with inspiration, hope and gratitude for this beautiful vocation we have! We work so well together, and our hope is to create a serene, collaborative environment for your creativity to thrive!
JODI LYNN BUCKLES
Jodi is a Mother to four precious souls, wife to a loving mountain man, daughter, Emotive Family + Motherhood Photographer, and Teacher in beautiful Sonoma County, California. She is passionate about creating living poetry with her imagery and nothing fills her heart more than producing meaningful Art that truly tells unique, tangible stories of connection, beauty, and truth. Photography has been a way for her to foster and share love with others and to be genuine with her craft. Seeing that true human connection and significance in her work, and with those whom she teaches, makes her heart sing. She hopes to inspire others to do some soul searching and to find their true why.
MacKenzie Pudenz
MacKenzie is a farm grown, earth Mama raising seven wild beauties with her husband in the Arizona desert. She spends her days all year round, chasing kids and SUNSHINE! She subconsciously fears that she will forget a moment or a memory, therefore is extremely dedicated to capturing all the magical moments in life, big or small. Becoming a mother has amplified this fear and given her a heightened sense of urgency to capture every perfect and imperfect moment, every detail, every joy…THE CONNECTIONS WE CAN FEEL, BUT DON’T ALWAYS SEE, life in all its exponential beauty. Her soul is constantly searching for connection, light, movement, and love.

GATHER MALIBU
March 8-10, 2023
Malibu, California
Malibu, with inspiring and beautiful California backdrops, has old Hollywood charm and glamour, breathtaking cliffy beaches and the majestic Malibu Canyon. We will be shooting at the Malibu Canyon mountains and at El Matador Beach, exploring the Malibu, Topanga and Santa Monica areas and staying at the enchanting Westlake Village Inn in Agoura Hills. For this retreat, there will be two attendees per hotel room (each with your own Queen bed) and we will also do some lounging by the pool and eat at some of Jodi’s favorite sushi and açaí bowl restaurants! We cannot wait to meet you where the mountains kiss the sea. Closest Airport is Los Angeles International…it is a 1.5 hour drive to Westlake Village Inn.
Retreat begins at 2 pm on March 8, ends at 10 am on March 10.

GATHER IDAHO
July 18 - 21, 2023
Stanley, Idaho
We are so excited to return to Stanley, Idaho this next July and this time have rented a beautiful log cabin on the Salmon River. Stanley Idaho is an outdoor, adventure paradise, filled with beautiful fresh lakes, babbling rivers, wildflowers, hot springs and surrounded by the jaw-dropping Sawtooth Mountains. One of the best parts about the area is the old town of Stanley, with its upbeat, eclectic country flair and live music in the streets. This Retreat is a 3 night retreat because it is a bit harder to get to Stanley area, we are hoping to also explore Sun Valley/Ketchum. The closest Airport is the Boise International Airport and we will help you set up carpools.
Retreat begins at 3 pm on July 18, ends at 10 am on July 21.

GATHER ZION
Oct. 25 - 27, 2023
Zion, Utah
The Zion area of Utah is a haven of natural beauty with expansive mountains, canyons, and buttes, checkerboard mesas, valleys, pinnacles, emerald rivers, caves and natural rock arches. Zion, a Hebrew word that means ‘a place of peace and relaxation’ offers profound backdrops and rich history. We are eager to be inspired by its natural beauty, a centerpiece for our journey together. We hope you will join us on this beautiful adventure as we shoot in St. George, Kanab and at the infamous Pink Coral Sand Dunes. Note we will not be shooting inside the park directly due to extensive permitting and parking challenges. The closest airports are St. George Regional and Cedar City. Retreat limited to 10 attendees with two teachers.
Retreat begins at 2 pm on October 25 and ends at 10 am on October 27.
